Monahans Sand Hills State Park – An Ocean of Sand in Texas

Monahans Sand Hills is smaller than the other sand dunes we’ve visited (Mesquite Flats, Great Sand Dunes, and White Sands), but not any less beautiful or fun. We were able to work and dispersed camp for a couple days inside the park through limited, but workable, cell service. If you’re in the area, it’s a great place to spend a day or two. Note, we aren’t positive that dispersed camping is allowed. We may have just gotten lucky that no one asked us to move.
