Free Dispersed Camping in the Marfa Lights Viewing Area

The Marfa Lights – mysterious glowing orbs that appear in the desert outside the West Texas town of Marfa – have mystified people for generations. And good news for all mystery lovers, you can camp for free at the viewing area for these lights! There’s excellent cell service, vault composting toilets, and close proximity to the neat town of Marfa, Texas. This is a great place to stop on your way to or from Big Bend. Be forewarned, you most likely will not see the lights. However, you will have fun speculating about what you think you see each night with fellow mystery-seekers.
