Liard River Hot Springs on the Alcan Highway

Liard River Hot Springs – Alcan Highway Canada

If you’re driving the Alcan, you absolutely should stop at the Liard River Hot Springs. They are the most beautiful natural hot springs I’ve seen to date, and are a great way to break up the drive. We didn’t spend the night since there was no cell service, but we spent most of a day here enjoying the beautiful surroundings and chatting with cool Canadians.

The pool is enormous. The spring enters to the right side, so it’s much, much hotter there. The water gradually cools as it flows and wraps around to the left. At $5 per adult per day, these are the cheapest hot springs we’ve found as well!

She started TravelSages in the summer of 2013, and has since founded a digital marketing consultancy, called LyteYear, and a sustainability brand, called RePrint. Before moving into her tiny mobile home, Lauren lived in Chicago for 6 years, pursued two graduate degrees, studied abroad at Oxford, worked for a summer in Hong Kong, and traveled to various countries in between.
