The Must-Know Lodging Options of Los Angeles

No matter what your lodging preferences are, you won’t have any difficulties finding the right accommodations in LA. LA offers an array of luxurious, hip, and/or budget- friendly lodging.  Based on my experience, staying in Hollywood, downtown, and/or Santa Monica is the best way to experience LA.

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in the heart of Hollywood, I would recommend Villa Delle Stelle. This hotel has a cottage-like feel, offers a full kitchen in all its rooms, and is reasonably priced. If you are looking for a really unique place to stay, definitely consider The Redbury. This is one of the hippest choices with a fun rock-and-roll feel. While it is a bit pricier, if you can swing it, you won’t regret it. Be sure to check out their great dining and their lounge! If you are on a tighter budget or looking to meet new people, USA Hostels in Hollywood is the place for you!  This is perfectly located in the heart of Hollywood, with a communal kitchen and access to numerous tours, activities and barbecues!

If you plan to centralize yourself in Downtown, The Standard is by far the best! This modern, artistic hotel is centered in Downtown near some of the best shopping and popular bars. The Standard is known for its amazing rooftop pool and bar. The rooftop offers gorgeous, panoramic views of Downtown LA that will honestly take your breath away. While The Standard may not be the most budget friendly (but affordable), sites like Expedia always offer great deals, so be sure to check them out! The O Hotel is another option for those looking to stay at a more charming, low-key hotel.  Also located downtown, this hotel has a more East-coast vibe with a gym and a spa. Their “Bar|Kitchen” cocktails and food are definitely worth trying.

Lastly, if your choice is to be located near the beach, Santa Monica is the place to be.  Hostelling International Santa Monica is located in Santa Monica, near Venice Beach and Malibu Beach. It is conveniently within walking distance of Third Street Promenade (GREAT shopping), Santa Monica Pier, and noteworthy pubs. This hostel does a great job coordinating pub crawls, day trips, and even acting workshops.
