Feel Warm and Fuzzy at the Santa Monica Christmas Pub Crawl

Brainstorming a new way to coax out that holiday spirit? Consider dressing up in your most creative Christmas or holiday wear and heading to Santa Monica’s annual Christmas Pub Crawl! Unfortunately, this year’s pub crawl was December 14, but be sure to check back on the official website for next year’s pub crawl. Feeling like you’re waiting for Christmas morning all year will be worth it!

For $10, a wristband will allow access to four different pub crawl routes riddled with 25 bars stuffed with downright-festive food and drink specials ($3 dollar beers, $2 tacos, etc.). Also, a portion of the proceeds goes to the Westside Food Bank to feed those in need during the holiday season. So, why not grab your loved ones and enjoy a festive night out? Helping the less fortunate will even further brighten your holiday cheer.

The pub crawl has 4 different routes: Pier, Main Street, Wilshire and Promenade. There are up to 8 different bar stops for each route.  Each bar has a time frame at which their specials run from, so be sure to watch the time and hop over to the next stop. Just a piece of advice: for those going for the first time, the night of the pub crawl can be quite busy, so if you are looking for a little extra space, definitely take advantage of the Pier route, as the bars have a little more room. The best part of the pub crawl is that the Big Blue Bus public transportation provides a major discount–rides all night for just $4! They run for 24 hours, making your crawl safe and successful.

If 9 p.m. is too early for you night owls, you can also partake in the Santa Scavenger Challenge. Just put together a team of at least five people, come up with a fun team name and theme, and start your scavenger hunt. A prize is awarded for the team that finishes first, so rally up your team and get the fun started! If the scavenger hunt is not your thing, but it’s too early to go home, you couldn’t be in a more perfect location. Keep making your pub rounds; Santa Monica is full of interesting bars and late-night food spots to enjoy all night. Try a bar on a different route you didn’t have the opportunity to check out earlier, since you still have your $4 all-night transportation ticket. Why not? Happy holidays!
